Since we launched the Wobbly Box we have been out on many trips in the van, documenting our thoughts on Caravan sites and things to do in the local areas along the way. We often seem to get away more regularly in the winter, so before we kick off our next set of sites we thought we would do a roundup of our top 5 sites to date.

1.Moreton in Marsh Caravan Club Site– Our score 9.3/10

Our summary: I always expect a bit more from a Caravan Club site based on experience, but Moreton in Marsh gives even more than most other CC sites. Location is spot on for families, sightseeing, activities, shopping. Whatever you enjoy, you can do it from here. Onsite facilities are more than you would get on most sites and you have an abundance of bars, restaurants and cafe’s just down the road. It’s great for dogs, great for kids and the site is clean, staff are super friendly and it’s hard to find much to fault. Definitely worth a visit.

Positives:Great for Dogs, great location, great for kids, lots to do

Needs Work: Pitches could be slightly sharper. TV signal is bad for those who don’t have an external antenna point to plug in but the fact that you can plug in kind of counters the issue for most.

 2. Malvern Hills Caravan Club Site – Our score 9.1/10

Our summary: If you’re looking to visit the beautiful Malvern Hills than this is an ideal base to do that from. Some people avoid Caravan and Motorhome Club sites as they feel they are a bit too regimented but this site has a different feel. It has the cleanliness and facilities of a C and M site but feels more relaxed and I imagine it attracts a younger audience and more children. A good place if you want a bit more of a flexible site to stay on.

Positives: Great location, good dog walk and play area,  decent sized pitches.

Needs work: Pitches slightly rough around the edges, improved wifi and TV points would be good, pitch layouts for grass might not appeal to all.

3.Blackmore Camping and Caravanning Club Site– Our score 8.9/10

Our summary: If you’re looking to visit the beautiful Malvern Hills than this is a great base to do it from. Worth a visit.

Positives: Great location, good dog walk and play area,  decent sized pitches.

Needs Work: Shop opening times, tent proximity to caravans, use of recreational space.

4. Broadway Caravan Club Site– Our score 8.8/10

Our summary: This site won’t disappoint if your looking for a clean, spacious site in easy walking distance of one of the most charming Villages in the Cotswolds. It’s in a good location, is maintained well and the staff were super friendly. If you like to drive around the site before choosing a pitch you may regret the decision when having to go through 2 barriers to get back onto the site from the upper level. The site is good for dogs and kids and it’s easy to get to. The location itself is fairly open in spaces which means on a windy day, you notice the wind a lot but the weather is obviously not down to the site itself. I would advise to use the lower toilet block as a toilet block, and the upper one as a museum to get the best shower experience.

Positives: Great location, small dog walk and play area, original Wanderer Caravan on display

Needs Work: Cleanliness of upper toilet block, Size of dog walk, Access between upper and lower areas.

5.Poolsbrook Country Park Caravan Club Site – Our score 8.5/10

Our summary: One of the best sites we have been to this year. Well laid out, clean and tidy. Its location made it a real winner in terms of the extras you get from the Country Park and the showers were the best we have seen on a campsite. We thoroughly enjoyed the site, so much so that we have moved our Christmas stay from another site to come back!

Positives: lots to do in the area, great facilities (not all onsite but very close), great pitches, friendly wardens, accessible, great showers.

Needs Work: Dog facilities, closeness of pitches
